At the base of the ladder, you'll find a red switch. Use Thoreau to grab one of the nearby Cragon, then with the combined weight, stand on the switch to trigger a pipe to appear. There's a pipe just before the ladder that continually spawns enemies. This location can be exploited to level-up quickly. Make sure to use Mario's stylish moves to gain points even faster - or, if you're feeling particularly lazy, use Bowser's flame breath to take them all down without having to do anything but hold a button.
After taking the pipe, you'll be in the first room of a short maze. Now here's the deal: Typically, you would have to navigate to a room that contains a hint to learn what to do next. To get there, take the right route three times through two doors and a pipe. Then use Tippi's power to read the text on the wall, which reveals that something is "behind the skull.
However, since you just read the tip, there's no need to take that route. Instead, take the left pipe from the first room of the maze to find a wall with a skull scrawled on it.
Use Fleep's flipping power to spin the skull around, revealing a Cave Key. Now make your way back to the locked door earlier in the cave, by taking the left pipe back up, then the pipe suspended from the ceiling, and finally, flip to 3D and climb the ladder to find the locked door on the right.
After unlocking the door, climb over the brick wall to have a new Pixl, named Dottie, join your team! Dottie can shrink Mario down to Smurf size, which allows you to enter tiny structures, such as the miniature door in this very room. Use it to return back to the hallway you just came from, and then proceed through the door near the Save Block, along the left wall. In the processing center, the left door is locked. I've already met the film crew for the Cragon documentary. I'm in an area with sliding doors, one of which leads to an X-ray machine, and one which leads to a door needing a passkey. I also see a tiny pipe and a tiny door. I think I'm supposed to be finding a new Pixl named Dottie around here, but I'm pretty much fresh out of ideas.

Now, go down, and to the right. Dottie is behind the locked door at the end, but you need a key, so go left a bit, and go 3D to find a pit you can fall through, but be careful not to kill any Floro Cragniens down there. Now, you actually have to grab one, and use you combined weight to push the big switch to the left, causing a pipe to appear, so go in.
Now, you're in a 6 room mini maze gee, I wonder where you've seen this before XP , but all you have to do is go in the other pipe and use Fleep on the skull drawing to get the key. Now, just backtrack to the locked door, go in, jump from some blocks over a wall, watch a sad goodbye scene between Dottie and a random Cragnon, and voila! You've got Dottie the shrinking Pixl who I believe is a guy, and possibly a hippie.
Anyways, Dottie is the last "mandatory" Pixl in the game, but don't fret, because there are 4 optional Pixls, one of which is Barry, who you can get by revisiting after saving Tippi and talking to him. If you wanna know about the other 3, just ask.
