I'm good in sandals if the high will be in the 50's and the sun is out. Mea culpa, I'm indoors most of the day anyhow. I see people in Seattle wear sandals, Birkies and flip flops when its 55 degrees - like Traci.
But usually it's more common when it hits 60 plus. Generally when the temperatures are 60F or higher. If I'm only going out in the middle of the day and it's hit that point, I'll wear them! But for all day wear, the weather has to be good.
I think this time of year is a free for all. I saw ballet flats, boots and sandals on the metro this morning, as well as jackets in a variety of thicknesses. Wear what makes you happy!
I'm like Dee. I'd say mids. The problem right now is that it might be that temp during the day but the minute the sun goes down it's dropping down into the 40s. In the meantime, I'm really fond of boots over bare legs and my knees seem to be more cold-resistant than my toes. I'm with Dee and Diana, around the 60s for me. I've worn mine once so far this season, during a short-lived warm spell - back in boots for now!
The very first moment I can. This year, that was March 4th it shot up to 75 degrees. Generally speaking though, any day that's over 60 is a sandal day for me. That usually takes me from early March through early December.
Although I'm happy to start early in March, I do try to be somewhat calendar-sensitive in the late Fall. I started wearing linen this month. Sandals look rather strange in November unless it's a tropical climate or summer where you are.
